Checking K Drive Space Usage
12 December 2008
Determining the amount of space your K drive uses and maintaining it below a reasonable level helps the Department provide those resources to everyone. To see how much space the files on your K drive are using:
From a computer in the Department, open My Computer and open your K drive.

Press Ctrl-A to select all of the files in the root of your K drive directory. Right-click the mouse and select Properties.

A new window will appear and calculate the size of the folders and files. Wait until the size stops changing, it may take a minute for the calculation to complete and the time is dependant on the size and number of files being checked. Once the size remains consistent for a couple seconds this will tell you the amount of space you are using.
