Electronic Mail Service As a graduate student in the Department of Political Science at The Ohio State University you will receive two e-mail accounts. OSU E-mail account in the form of - lastname.n@osu.edu You may elect to have one of the accounts forwarded to the other account so you only need to read from one server. To have your OSU e-mail account forwarded to the Political Science e-mail server go to http://8help.ohio-state.edu/forms/mail_forwarding.html. To have your Political Science e-mail account
forwarded to the OSU central e-mail server, please send mail to prl@mail.polisci.ohio-state.edu.

When configuring your e-mail software to connect to the OSU e-mail server
SMTP Server (Outgoing)* -
smtp.service.ohio-state.edu *Outgoing Mail using Cable Modem service, DSL service, or modem internet service provider (ISP)
Generally your ISP will require you to set your outgoing mail server to their SMTP address. Refer to the directions provided by your ISP
If you connect from an OSU Residence Hall, use smtp.resnet.ohio-state.edu. If you do not connect to the Internet through OSU, you will need to use your ISP's outgoing mail server.
